About me

My name is Hyunwoo Shin. I recently defended my Ph.D. dissertation in the Grado Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech, where I conducted research under the supervision of Drs. Sait Tunc and Xi Chen. My research focuses on healthcare operations and health policy, with an emphasis on simulation modeling, simulation optimization, and statistical learning methods. Recent applications of my work include organ allocation and transplantation policy.

I will join MD Anderson Cancer Center as an incoming Postdoctoral Researcher working with Dr. Iakovos Toumazis.
